For every ten (10) students attending, your group receives one (1) free mentor registration. Please use the group registration form.
Are there scholarships available? Yes, we have a limited number of scholarships available. Please fill out the scholarship application and send to Northpoint Church or email to meantformore08@yahoo.com. We will make every effort to help you!

Registration will be open Friday night and Saturday! There is NO deadline to when you can register!!!
Here are some ideas for getting a group together.

Refund Policy: Refunds can be given until March 28, 2008 less a $5 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for "no shows".

Lunch on Saturday is included in the price.

The mentor would be anyone who works with teens, a youth leader, or a mom!

Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the entire event at the cafe.

"What if I can only come on Saturday?" Please plan on joining us, even if you may miss out on Friday night. (Please note we do not have a Saturday only fee)

A prayer room will be open throughout the entire event, whether you would like a quiet moment to yourself or to pray with a volunteer.

A Resource Table will also be available where you will find free materials and items for purchase!

Are mothers welcome? Yes, of course! Please keep in mind that this is an event for teen girls and is not a parent/daughter event.

Who Is Shannon Primicerio?

Twenty-something author Shannon Primicerio resides in Southern California with her husband, Michael. The Primicerios are a fun-loving couple who enjoy watching baseball, playing Bocce ball, flying kites, and hanging out at the beach. An avid baseball fan her entire life, Shannon adopted the New York Yankees as her team of choice when she married Michael, a New York native. Shannon has a B.A. in journalism and a minor in Biblical studies from Biola University, and was the recipient of the North County Times Excellence in Writing award in 2000, and the San Diego Christian Writers' Guild Nancy Bayless Award for Excellence in Writing in 2003.

She has been interviewed on radio and television programs across the nation and was recently featured in such media outlets as PBS' Religion and Ethics Newsweekly, The Harvest Show and TIME magazine.

Shannon's ministry spans the globe, as her books are available in several languages. She also serves as a mentor to young authors through the Jerry B. Jenkins' Christian Writers' Guild. Her articles have appeared in Marriage Partnership and BRIO magazines. In 2006 Shannon and Michael traveled to Lima, Peru as part of the annual BRIO missions trip.

Shannon has a passion to reach impoverish people, especially children. She and her husband Michael partner with Compassion International to sponsor a little boy in Burkina Faso and a university student in Kenya, Africa. Anne's Vision for Meant For More '08

As a young woman, God instilled in my heart that I was meant for more. It was exciting to know that God had a plan and desire for my life! He also planted a desire that other young women would know that they are meant for more as well. I never knew exactly what that would look like, but knew God had something in store!

In 2006, I married Matt, a youth pastor, and moved to Northern Illinois. I began to develop a deep love for the young women of our group and had a desire that they too knew they were meant for so much more! Several youth groups in our area came together for a See You at the Pole rally in Fall 2007. At that rally, the "Meant for More '08" event began to develop in my mind. What if we could get the young women of this entire area together and pour into them as one large group?

I began brainstorming and trying to pull together a group of women. I don't remember how it came up, but I started telling my friend Heather all about my passion for this event. God had been working on her heart as well and she had the same vision for a young women's event! It was very exciting to see God's hand go before us!

We are excited to pour into the young women of your youth group, as well as ours, and help drive home the point that they are meant for so much more!

Heather's Vision for Meant For More '08

This past summer I read: Authentic Beauty by Leslie Ludy. After reading this excellent book I had this vision of putting together a conference for the young women of my community. A conference that would focus on being set-apart for God, purity, a deeper walk with the Lord, and desiring what God wanted for their life.

I see so many young girls who look to the world's standard to dictate what they wear, what they say, how they act, how they date, and how they find worth. Looking to God could radically shift a young women's perspective of herself, her God and her purpose in life.

I had the whole thing planned in my mind. I wanted to get area churches to support this, for young women of this area to come and be encouraged and uplifted!

I remember telling my husband about this vision and telling him what I could see happening. I envisioned a main speaker, worship, break-out sessions and end with a concert. God was at work in my heart and in the heart of my friend, Anne McClane!

In March of 2007 Anne and my lives crossed paths. We became friends and to be honest we don't know how this topic came up. But we realized that we had the same vision for a girls conference. Not only did Anne have the vision, but she had begun planning an event.

My heart soared! God was showing me/us that this is what He wanted us to plan. I am very excited to see what God has in mind and what He plans on doing with this conference.

Meant For More '08 comes from two women who have a deep desire to see young women of our community realize that they are meant for so much more!

Who Are the Sonflowerz?

Since 1999,The Sonflowerz has traveled throughout the U.S. and U.K. with their original modern worship music. Led by guitarist, lead vocalist, and songwriter, Elissa Leander and sister Becca Leander (vocals/bass/keyboard/guitar), The Sonflowerz music ministry was born in their hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Performing at various venues across the Rocky Mountain region, The Sonflowerz quickly became noticed in the local music scene. The act’s first album,You Remain and single, Crazy Love, were released in 2002. Their sophomore effort,Alive In You, was released in 2005.

With a vision to reach the U.S. and beyond, The Sonflowerz have toured the U.K. 4 times, and this past summer their single Move Me climbed tonumber four on the European Christian Music Chart this past summer, above other songs by major label acts such as Stephen Curtis Chapman, Kutless, and Audio Adrenaline. Elissa and Becca, who are both half British, have brought their music to British public schools, churches, festivals and conferences in the U.K. “We especially love reaching out to students in England, talking with them and answering questions about our faith,” says Becca. “Each European tour we do, we’ll take some days off to sightsee, and really experience the culture there.”

The Sonflowerz have shared the stage with artists and ministry leaders such as Nigel James (Third Day’s on-road Pastor), author and speaker Lisa Bevere, BarlowGirl, Phil Wickham, Jeremy Camp, Waterdeep, Steve, Kutless, and Foolish Things. “We have loved getting to know The Sonflowerz over the years,” says Alyssa Barlow of BarlowGirl. “We are excited to watch them make an impact on the world.”

This past summer, The Sonflowerz won first place in the Vocal Duo competition and later were judged Best Over-All Vocal Group at the 33rd annual GMA Music in the Rockies. Various magazines and publications featured the band after their win, including CCM Magazine, which listed The Sonflowerz as one of the top artists on their community website, myCCM.org.

“Because of our musical growth over the last few years, we are excited to take our music to a new level with a third full-length album,” says Elissa. The new album by The Sonflowerz will release in March 2008, produced by Dove Award-winning producer-songwriter Don Koch. “When I first met The Sonflowerz, I was taken back by how transparent their hearts are,” Koch added. “I could easily see Christ in them. Their passion for family, for ministry, and their love for singing come shining through. But there is more. They are really talented. It is an honor and privilege to be working with them.”

The new CD will feature lead vocals and acoustic guitar by Elissa, bass and background vocals by Becca, and instrumentation by some of Nashville’s top session players. The album will be distributed through the distribution channels of Indie Extreme, the independent label management firm that administers Sonflower Records.

“My greatest joy for this next CD is that I am given the opportunity once again to write and sing about the impression God has made on my life,” Elissa added. “These songs convey the gratitude of being loved by God and the desire to share that love with the world.” Taking with them the message of Christ, The Sonflowerz will tour in 2008 across U.S. and Europe to lead worship and perform concerts at various events and conferences.

Don Koch adds, “It’s going to be amazing to watch how God uses these two sisters from Colorado Springs.”

How To Pray for Meant for More '08

As we are embarking on this journey, we would be thankful for you to partner with us in prayer! We ask for prayer for the young women and mentors attending the event; the speakers, musicians, and staff; and the event as a whole.

Please pray specifically:

That a sense of God’s presence and a spirit of joy and salvation will be present at the event.

That God will be working on the hearts of the young women coming, preparing them for the message He has for them.

That the process of registration will go smoothly.

That each speaker, musician and volunteer will have every need met and be protected physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually throughout the weekend.

That each speaker and musician will be able to communicate clearly.

That parking, lunch distribution and technology (sound, lights, etc.) will go smoothly.

That each young woman attending will be able to concentrate on the messages and be responsive to God’s message for her this weekend.

Spread the Word!
Tell them about it. Then tell ‘em again . . . and again! Put up posters, include an paragraph in your church bulletin (you’ll find one under promotions), show the promo video, send out emails, put info on your Web site, send out a bulletin on your myspace account, join our Facebook Meant For More '08 group . . . pretty much any and everything you can think of to let people know about Meant For More '08.

Outreach
Encourage your girls to invite their unchurched friends. It’s a fun, non-threatening environment where they will hear about God’s love and grace.

Guest Speaker Shannon Primicerio
Shannon has authored several books and devotionals for young women. These are great resources for small groups – and if they like the book, they’ll love the event!

Retreat
You can use the event as a retreat for your girls. No worries about finding a speaker, a band, or choosing a theme – we’ve taken care of that for you. Have a sleep over with your girls Friday night!

Gift/Scholarship
Often people who do not have teens themselves are willing to sponsor a girl who would not otherwise have been able to attend. By offering this opportunity you can increase the size of your group and offer teens a potentially life-changing experience at the same time.

Partner With Others
Are there other churches or youth organizations in your area that would like to attend? This is a great way to work together and earn free tickets for mentors (one free for every 10 students paid). Is there a spot where teens hang out? Ask them to display a poster and/or flyers with your contact information.
